Let the Chips Fall by Michael Godard
I was stressing over everything I had to do for this piece, and especially the lack of ideas, so I just said, “let the chips fall where they may.” I thought it would be funny if the olives held a card and just let the chips fall where they might.
Two olives are holding a card, trying to catch the chip that has jumped from the lip of the martini glass. They don’t want him to get hurt. I always say, “don’t worry about life, if the chips fall in the glass, that’s OK.” If they fall off the glass toward the ground, someone will probably catch them. ~M.G.
